Blackett: This letter presents Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) submittal package for repairs on the upstream face of Bucks Storage Dam, which is part of PG&E’s Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 619. The repairs are a result of Recommendation 10 from the 11th Part 12D inspection completed in 2020. The independent consultant recommended inspecting the upstream face of the dam. PG&E determined the repairs are necessary after reviewing the results of a bathymetric survey completed in the fall of 2021 and a dive inspection in October 2023. Enclosed with this submittal, please find approved-for-construction design documents (Enclosure 1), a project description (Enclosure 2), a quality control inspection program (Enclosure 3), a temporary construction emergency action plan (Enclosure 4), and a design criteria memorandum (Enclosure 5). PG&E has reviewed the consultant’s work products and concurs with the information presented therein. PG&E’s plans to release the project to construction to support a construction mobilization in July 2026. PG&E plans to provide a final construction report within 90 days of completing construction, otherwise PG&E will provide an update on the project status and a plan and schedule for further action by January 31, 2027. PG&E respectfully requests FERC authorization to proceed with the project.
