We have reviewed your submittal, and we have the following comments that do not require a response: 1. An extended outage of the Butte Creek Canal is likely to have a dverse effects on aquatic resources through elevated water temperatures in the DeSabla Forebay and in the downstream reaches of Butte Creek, as evidenced by the r ecent March 26, 2024 letter from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife . Therefore, you should make every effort to restore flows through the Butte Can al as soon as possible or provide an alternate strategy for providing cool wa ter to Butte Creek prior to the warmer months in 2024. We expect this objective will be accomplished through the development of your annual Operations and Maintenance Plan. 2. The plan and schedule for submitting the long-term plan and next steps by December 1, 2024, is acceptable.
