Update to 2024 Outage Schedule – Bucks Creek U1 and U2
Dear Frank L. Blackett:
This letter presents an update to Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) schedule of planned
outages in 2024 which require dewatering of tunnels, conduits, or penstocks. Penstock dewatering
is required for the Bucks Powerhouse Unit 1 (U1) and Unit 2 (U2), which is part of PG&E’s Bucks
Creek Hydroelectric Project, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 619. PG&E
submitted the 2024 outage schedule to FERC on October 26, 2023.

The Bucks U1 and U2 outage schedule update reflects an expedited outage time due to the
rescheduling of replacing the 11.5kv aux cubicles on both units. Replacement of the aux cubicles
on U1 and U2 was previously scheduled for October 1, 2024, and has been rescheduled for 2025.
This rescheduling reduces the outage time in U1 from 102 days to 31 days and in U2 from 102
days to 19 days. Additionally, replacement of U1’s bearing slinger rings has been added to the
updated outage schedule. This routine maintenance outage will follow the previously executed
procedures that have been coordinated with your office.
