EVACUATION SHELTER AT NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH TO CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT
Butte County, Ca—The evacuation shelter at Neighborhood Church will close at midnight tonight (11:59pm on
August 2, 2024). A total of 353 evacuees have been assisted at the shelter since the Park Fire started on July 24. All
evacuees at the shelter in need of a place to stay during this time have been assisted.
The Emergency Operations Center continues to monitor the fire. In the event the current situation changes, staff are
prepared to respond and potentially re-open the shelter, if needed.
The small and large animal shelters remain open and are currently operating from 8am to 8pm.
Residents returning home should pick up animals from the shelter. The small animal shelter is located at: 2279 Del
Oro Avenue in Oroville. The large animal shelter is located at the Camelot Equestrian Park, 1985 Clark Road. Please
bring your intake form and photo ID. Please make sure to have food, water and proper containment for animals
being picked up.
Residents looking for missing pets in fire impacted areas are encouraged to
visit https://24petconnect.com/event/parkfire to see a photo of every lost pet currently housed at the animal shelter
located at 2279 Del Oro in Oroville. If you see your pet on the website, please go to the animal shelter during
operating hours, be sure to bring enough information to establish proof of ownership. Proof of ownership could
include photos, a detailed description, and last known location. The lost pets website will be updated with any new
lost pets as they come to the shelter.
