HomeMy WebLinkAbout08.05.24 Board Correspondence - EOC and DROC UpdateFrom:Jessee, Meegan To:BOS Subject:EOC and DROC Update Date:Monday, August 5, 2024 10:55:17 AM Good morning – The work of the EOC is reducing and some staff are now able to support the EOC virtually from their desks. The animal operation however is still quite busy. As of this morning we had 57 small and 7 large animals in the shelters. Staff will continue to work this week to reunite animals with their owners and then ultimately close the shelters. Additionally the Local Assistance Center (LAC) opened this morning at 9am. Fire activity on the Park Fire within Butte County has reduced significantly. I’ll be EOC Director over the coming days – mostly from my desk here in Admin. With less actively anticipate receiving fewer updates, but please don’t hesitate to reach out of you have question or concerns. As EOC work declines, the work of the Disaster Recovery Operations Center (DROC) is standing up. Deputy CAO Danielle Nuzum will function as the DROC Director and she is in the process of pulling together the DROC team with representatives from throughout the County – Development Services, Employment and Social Services, Environmental Health etc. Tomorrow I expect to sign an updated emergency declaration that includes all the July 2024 Butte County fires given the commutative effect on our communities and our desire to include them all in requests for state support and debris removal operations. This updated declaration will come to the Board on the 13th for ratification. Thanks, Meegan Jessee Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Butte County Administration 25 County Center Drive, Suite 200, Oroville, CA 95965 T: 530.552.3311 M: 530.588.4304
