The total number of parcels may change overtime. Parcels assessed does not mean that the HHW removal is complete. Note: These numbers indicate the total count of parcels assessed for the Park Fire which includes properties in Tehama County. For more up-to-date information, please visit the Park Fire webpage on the Butte County website located at www.buttecounty.net/2021/Park-Fire. The DTSC Dashboard can be found under Phase I Household Hazardous Waste Assessment Dashboard. Park Fire Survivor Data The information below combines data from the Local Assistance Center (LAC), shelters, and 211. This does not include all residents in the burn scar, only those who registered. As a result of the Park Fire,.. Veterans who occupied a shelter or registered with 211 Park Fire DROC Situation Status Report Page 3 DROC COUNTY TEAM UPDATES Management •The Urgency Ordinance (Ordinance) is in the final stages of review. The Ordinance will support Phase II Private Property debris and hazardous tree removal. Upon approval for California Disaster Assistance Act and Private Property Debris Removal the Ordinance will be taken to the Board of Supervisors •CalOES has provided a draft Right-of-Entry (ROE) form to County Counsel for preliminary review, which is a good indicator that Private Property Debris Removal will be approved. •The County continues efforts to secure funding from State and federal partners. •Weekly Q+A Session take place every Wednesdays from 4:00 – 6:00pm. These meetings provide a regular space for survivors to ask questions to County staff. Meetings are held at the Cohasset Community Association located at 11 Maple Creek Ranch Road, Cohasset. •The Park Fire webpage, Butte County social media pages/posts, and Park Fire telephone line continue to be updated with current information. Debris Removal/Property Clean Up/Environmental Health/Watershed Protection •As of September 4, 2024, the Department of Toxic Substance Control dashboard reports that 215 parcels have been assessed in the Park Fire burn scar. In Butte County, a total of 98 parcels have been cleared of debris, 41 parcels are in process, and 8 parcel have access challenges. The County is coordinating access for DTSC with property owners. •DTSC has secured lithium batteries found to date in the burn scar. The County has requested safety messaging from DTSC. •In anticipation of Phase II Private Property Debris Removal, the County has secured and set-up the Right-of-Entry (ROE) Center and is working on materials to support Phase II efforts. •The County is working with Cal OES on watershed protection mission. CalOES will begin the Watershed protection mission once approximately 75% of Household Hazardous Waste is removed. Care and Shelter/Local Assistance Center/Housing •Direct Housing and Individual Assistance has yet to be approved or denied. Public Works/Infrastructure/Right-of-Ways •Public Works expects that the Watershed Emergency Response Team (WERT) report will be finalized in the coming week. This report will support post-fire risks to life and property posed by debris flow, flood, and rock fall hazards. It includes coordination across local jurisdictions and State agencies. •Public Works staff continues to monitor road conditions as they sustain additional damages from Cal Fire crews and debris removal. Land Use •Temporary Housing Permits continue to be a priority. To date three permits have been approved.
