Subject: Appointments in Lieu Paradise Recreation and Parks District
Attention: Clerk of the Board, Butte County Board of Supervisors
Agenda Item: Appointments in Lieu- Paradise Recreation and Park District
Dear PRPD Board of Directors and Butte County Board of Supervisors,
I am writing to show support of the appointment of John Stonebraker to the Paradise
Recreation and Parks District Board of Directors. I have work alongside John on the
nonprofit Magalia Community Park Board of Trustees and from that, know he is truly
dedicated to improving the environment and community which PRPD provides
services to.
The PRPD Board needs a representative from Magalia as the PRPD Board has
plenty of representation from Paradise already and no one from Magalia. I have live
on the Ridge since 1995 and do not recall that the PRPD Board has ever had a
representative from Magalia. That has to change and Mr. Stonebraker is right the
person to make that greatly needed change in lack of representation from the uppper
Ridge community. It is very important to the well being of PRPD that the lands they
manage in Magalia have more attention to details and that more programs they offer
in Paradise, be equally offered in Magalia. John can help the current board in finding
solutions to those real and true concerns.
John’s knowledge of the current status of PRPD is second to none. He is highly
informed and a very active participant in PRPD’s monthly meetings. I would not be
surprised to find out that John has never missed one of their meetings in years. Once
seated on the Board, John will not need to catch up on what is on the agenda for
PRPD.
Lastly I would like it to be known that John Stonebraker will come to board meetings
well prepared and informed. His attention to detail is outstanding. When John is
given something to consider, I have seen him first hand give his due diligence in
researching it in great depth before commenting. He is absolutely qualified to be on
PRPD’s Board of Directors.
Please appoint John Stonebraker to PRPD’s Board of Directors and give Magalia the
representation deserved in the District.
Sincerely
Rich Gingery Jr.
