Specifically, our concerns include: frequent, documented flooding of Landmark Drive and Roseanna Ct. on multiple occasions between 1995-2019; lack of a plan to mitigate the blockage of the natural sheet flow of flood water along the northern fence line and adjacent Landmark Drive properties; and the increased potential for flooding in our area due to increased runoff in the Rock Creek Basin burn scar due to the recent Park Fire. We have accessed written correspondence with the county dating back to 1997 in which the same flooding concerns at Landmark Drive were brought up by past homeowners. One response from the county includes the following quote: “County improvement standards do not allow blockage of any drainage that naturally flows through property,” Stuart Edell – Manager, Land Development Division. The northern fence line described above, without the addition of a proper drainage ditch, creates that exact scenario. Our concerns have been voiced through the proper channels at County Public Works without satisfaction. Now we are turning to you, our elected representative, in hopes that you will hear our concerns regarding the integrity of our property rights and personal safety. As residents with properties adjacent and/or within range of Sierra Moon’s direct impact, we request a response or a meeting with you, preferably on-site, where you would be afforded the opportunity of assessing the situation yourself. We feel a sense of urgency to address these issues now while the weather is dry, construction is still in its early stages, and the physical resources are here. Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from and meeting with you.
