Subject: CFOL Wants Your Thoughts on Measure H
Dear CFOL Member:
The Board of Chico Friends of the Butte County Library (CFOL) is asking for your input!
At our next meeting (Tuesday Sept. 17, 6:30 at the Chico Library), the Board will be
discussing Measure H, on the November ballot. The campaign in favor of the Measure
has requested that CFOL endorse Measure H, and a representative from the campaign
will be invited to attend the meeting. If you're interested, we would love to see you at
the meeting!
Measure H, if passed, will raise your sales tax by a penny (to 9.25%), benefitting Butte
County's General Fund. The library system is funded primarily from the General Fund, as
are public safety departments. Whether or not Measure H passes, the Board of
Supervisors will continue to allocate General Funds at their discretion to the different
departments involved.
CFOL also encourages replies to this email. Do you think we should endorse Measure H?
We can't necessarily answer Measure H questions with authority, but we would love to get
a sense of our members' opinions before the meeting, to help us decide on the
endorsement.
