I hope the county's appreciation for its code enforcement officers will extend to restoring staffing to keep case loads
manageable. Right now, officers are in certain areas of the county too infrequently to check back on cases, which
allows 10- and 30-day letters to be ignored and situations to deteriorate. In particular, when an EHCE case gets
referred from Environmental Health to Code Enforcement, there needs to be capacity to promptly address the public
health concern. I would like to thank the officers for their efforts toward resolving quality of life issues in our
unincorporated communities. And, if possible, by giving them enough support to succeed.
