Subject: Invitation: Broadband Access Meeting in Trinity County – October 29th
Good afternoon,
I hope this message finds you well. The North State Planning and Development Collective, in
partnership with the Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation, would like to extend a warm invitation to an
upcoming in-person event focused on broadband access in rural and tribal lands. We are bringing
together representatives from tribes, local and state government, ISPs, and other stakeholders for a
critical discussion on broadband equity.
Event Details
Date: October 29, 2024
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Lunch will be provided)
Location: 304 Corral Bottom Rd., Big Bar, CA, in Trinity County
This event aims to facilitate a conversation about the challenges and opportunities surrounding
broadband deployment in tribal areas. Topics of discussion will include:
Barriers to deployment
Upcoming broadband projects near Tribal lands
Affordability and digital equity
Cultural monitoring
Tribal access to Middle Mile
Meeting sponsored in part by CPUC Equity and Access Grant Program and the California
Employment Training Panel (ETP).
We believe your insights can help shape the future of connectivity in rural and tribal communities.
By participating, you’ll have the opportunity to not only contribute to these important conversations
but also collaborate with others to create actionable strategies that support the growth and
sustainability of broadband access in these areas.
Please RSVP by Friday, October 11, 2024, to either Sabrina Oregel, Outreach Coordinator at
saoregel@csuchico.edu or Melissa Tanner, Project Manager, at mkkovacs@csuchico.edu, to help us
prepare for lunch and confirm your spot at the table. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate
to reach out to our team.
