Please exercise judgment before opening attachments, clicking on links, or replying.. We have just witnessed meritless challenges to the discretionary land use process resulting in significant public agency expense. But from an applicant standing to benefit, vainly trying to set aside a unanimous denial. Of course the county should not have to use public dollars to defend an approval challenged by the citizenry. Nor should we have to spend public dollars defending the discretionary denial of a conditional use permit. This amendment is a half-step in the right direction that will significantly weight the scales towards approval of the nine-figure projects in the pipeline until the wording is revisited.
