Greetings,
My name is Julissa, and I’m reaching out on behalf of the California Climate Action Corps, a
program of California Volunteers in the Governor’s Office. We’re hosting a large-scale
Community Climate Action Day at Lower Bidwell Park on Saturday, October 19th, in
partnership with Butte Fire Safe Council, City of Chico, Little Chico Creek Fire Safe Council,
Sterling City Firewise Community, Paradise Park and Recreation District, Camp Fire
Restoration Project, Butte Environmental Council, and Mechoopda Tribe.
and we’d love for your organization to be involved.
This event will bring together over 250 volunteers to participate in various environmental
projects, including wildfire fuel reduction projects, which are critically important, especially
after the recent Park Fire. Following these volunteer activities, we’re hosting a free lunch and
resource fair where volunteers can explore different ways to get involved in their community.
Please announce this event happening in your community.
