Interstate 80 Construction Update for Sierra Corridor
Delays Expected to Continue Throughout Fall
PLACER/NEVADA COUNTIES – Caltrans
is reminding motorists of various lane and
ramp closures in multiple locations along
Interstate 80 (I-80) as several projects
continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Construction crews are working on final
tasks, winterizing projects and keeping
track of weather conditions. Motorists may
experience delays of up to two hours and
are encouraged to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor. No work is
scheduled on Monday, November 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
Here is the breakdown for next week:
Eastbound I-80
· Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Monte Vista and Drum
Forebay, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 6 a.m.
Tuesday, November 12 through 11 a.m. Friday, November 15. Work is also scheduled
from 7 p.m. Friday, November 15 through 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16.
· Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project between Yuba Gap and the
junction with State Route 20 (SR-20), lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7
p.m. Wednesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 14. Work is also scheduled
from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, November 15.
· Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Troy and Soda Springs,
lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 through
Thursday, November 14.
Westbound I-80
· Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Soda Springs and Troy,
lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 through
Thursday, November 14.
· Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project between the junction with SR-20
and Yuba Gap, lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday,
November 13 and Thursday, November 14. Work is also scheduled from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, November 15.
· Emergency Repairs Location 2 between Yuba Gap and Emigrant Gap, various lane
and ramp closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 12 and
Wednesday, November 13.
· Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Blue Canyon, lane closures will be
in place from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. Tuesday, November 12 through Thursday, November 14.
Work is scheduled to end at 7 a.m. Friday, November 15.
· Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Drum Forebay and Monte
Vista, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 6 a.m.
Tuesday, November 12 through 7 p.m. Saturday, November 16.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’
safety. For more information on each project visit Caltrans District 3 Current Projects. The
schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other
unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11
Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone
Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these
improvements.
