Re: Recommendations 3 and 14 from 11th Part 12D Safety Inspection Report
Dear Mr. Cruzen:
This is in response to a letter dated June 21, 2024 from Mr. Robert Ellis that
submitted a response to our comments on the Stage Frequency Analysis report to address
recommendations 3 and 14 from the 11th Part 12D Safety Inspection Report for Bucks
Lake Dam, which is part of the Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 619. We
have reviewed the submittal, and we have the following comments:
1. Our comment regarding the return period for the 1977 storm was not adequately
addressed. Provide an explanation on how the return period for the observed 1977
storm was calculated.
2. The plan and schedule to address our comments 2, 3, and 4 by March 31, 2025, is
acceptable.
Within 45 days of the date of this letter, address comment no. 1 or provide a plan
and schedule to address comment no. 1. File your submittal using our eFiling system at
https://www.ferc.gov/ferc-online/overview. When eFiling, select Hydro: Dam Safety;
San Francisco Regional Office from the eFiling menu. The cover page of the filing must
indicate that the material was eFiled. For assistance with eFiling, contact FERC Online
