Hendricks Head Dam Repairs
Response to FERC’s November 8, 2024, Comment
Dear Frank L. Blackett:
This letter presents Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E) response to address the
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) comments on Hendricks Head Dam Repair
project, which is part of PG&E’s DeSabla-Centerville Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 803.
PG&E received FERC’s comments in a letter dated November 8, 2024. For reference, FERC’s
comment is copied below, followed by PG&E's response (in italics).
The proposed spillway repairs will require a consultation with the United States Fish and
Wildlife Services (USFWS) under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act. You must
complete the Section 7 consultation and provide the consultation result to the Division of
Hydropower Administration and Compliance.
On September 26, 2024, PG&E respectfully requested FERC’s Division of Hydropower
Administration and Compliance (DHAC) designate PG&E as its non-federal
representative to conduct Section 7 consultation. On November 27, 2024, FERC issued
a letter to the USFWS designating PG&E as FERC’s non-federal representative to
conduct informal consultation with the USFWS. PG&E will begin consultation with the
USFWS and file documentation with DHAC when available. PG&E understands that
SFRO is unable to complete our review of the proposed improvement until SFRO
receives the full record of the consultation with the USFWS. PG&E anticipates
submitting the required documentation to FERC by April 30, 2025.
