We did not receive any pre-seizure notice that would have allowed us an opportunity to respond. At the time of the incident, we were informed by Animal Control that we would need to wait for paperwork to be mailed to us for further information. We were not provided notice, either by mail or in person, of any court hearing related to the seizure. The first written notice was left on our gate approximately 37 days after the seizure and was mailed on the 39th day. This notice stated that we had 8 days to remit $15,000. We believe this process did not provide adequate notice or a meaningful opportunity to respond, raising serious concerns regarding due process. This matter is of significant importance to us, as it involves not only the loss of our animals but also concerns regarding proper procedure and the actions taken by the involved agency. We respectfully request a thorough and impartial review of the circumstances surrounding: • The initial seizure of the horses • The legal authority under which the seizure was conducted • The timeline and decision-making process leading to the euthanization • Whether proper notice and required legal procedures were followed It is our position that these actions were not conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including inconsistencies in how the investigation was carried out by involved personnel. We are seeking clarity, accountability, and any appropriate remedies as determined by the Court. This notice serves to delay dealine and the murder of our 3 remaing horses. We are prepared to present all relevant documentation, evidence, and testimony in support of our case. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, Angelēk Aldrich-Lewis Richard Lewis Sayge Lewis
