Dear Frank L. Blackett:
This letter reports on the completion of Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) efforts to
address the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) Comment 4a (C-4a) on the intake
tower at Grizzly Forebay Dam, which is part of PG&E’s Bucks Creek Hydroelectric Project, Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) No. 619. FERC provided Comment 4 to PG&E in a letter
dated December 29, 2021. For tracking purposes in this letter and moving forward, PG&E
separated Comment 4 into C-4a, C-4b and C-4c PG&E submitted its most recent plan and
schedule to address C-4a in a letter to FERC dated January 31, 2023.
A summary and conclusion of PG&E’s efforts to address C-4a is enclosed with this letter
(Enclosure 1). A report on a seismic analysis of the intake tower is provided in (Enclosure 2).
PG&E’s technical memorandum summarizing the report is provided in (Enclosure 3). PG&E has
reviewed the consultant-prepared report and does not completely concur with the information
within, as described in Enclosure 3.
PG&E believes C-4a has been satisfactorily addressed, and no further action is necessary. Should
