SUBJECT: VERMICULTURE OPERATION AT 2010 VISTA LANE.
Dear Mr. Kermen,
We have received a request for a zoning determination for the proposed use of “Onsite
Agricultural Product Sales” for a worm casting business, similar to an onsite facility selling
produce. Since your parcel is located within the Agricultural Zone (AG-20) the use category
of “Onsite Agricultural Product Sales” is permitted by right and does not require any
additional permitting from the County.
This use is permitted only as accessory to the onsite residential or agricultural use(s). If
material is brought offsite to add to the vermicompost (i.e. food scraps, yard waste, or tree
trimmings) the business would then be classified as a “Composting Facility” which requires
a Minor Use Permit in the AG-20 zone.
