Describe the nature of the business (including type of service or product). a. I am intending to increase my craft ale home-brewing activities to a part-time micro-brewery business and make wholesale deliveries of kegged ale to local restaurants and craft brewery bars. b. There will be strictly no prohibited home business involving on-sale or off-sale of alcoholic beverages except as specifically permitted by PLA-14. 2. Describe the operation, including where onsite the business will be conducted, delivery of products or services, storage, hours of operation, and any other applicable information. a. The business will be operated in the proposed new industrial utility building plan identified as B15-3048. b. The kegged ale will be personally delivered to customers. c. We will be creating and storing the ale prior to delivery at the new utility building. d. Initially, hours of operation are expected to be Monday 8am to 5pm. 3. Explain the method of customer contact, including anticipated volume if the contact will occur onsite, and identify how parking will be accommodated. a. Customers are contacted by email, telephone and by visiting them at their place of business. b. There will be no sales office maintained at the premises for customers to visit. c. We have no expectation that customers will have need to visit the premises for business purposes. d. There is no anticipated volume of customers attending the premises to conduct business. 4. Describe any structural changes to the dwelling or accessory building(s) that are necessary for the proposed home occupation. a. A new construction industrial utility building has been proposed for the brewery as outlined in B15-3048. 5. Identify and describe any mechanical equipment to be used onsite. a. There is no major mechanical equipment required to perform the business. b. Equipment generally to be used in the business are: i. Small grain mill (portable) ii. Heated water tank (cut-sheet provided in building plan) iii. Mash tun (cut-sheet provided in building plan) iv. Boil kettle (cut-sheet provided in building plan) v. Chiller plate (portable) vi. Fermenters (cut-sheet provided in building plan) vii. Kegs (portable – floor standing – no racking or stacking anticipated) viii. CO2 container (portable) ix. Various electrical pumps and flexible piping (portable not-fixed) x. Freezers (hops and as secondary wort coolant if necessary) 6. Identify and describe any signs to be used onsite. a. No business fixed sign is currently planned other than the required parking disability sign. However, if we did put up a promotional sign it would be unlit and less than three square feet in dimension in order to meet the Butte County home occupation regulations.
