HomeMy WebLinkAboutUP14-0002_NOI-Hearing NoticeBUTTE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Butte County has prepared an Initial Study and is considering the adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project listed below at a public hearing before the Butte County Planning Commission to be held on May 22, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. in the Butte County Board of Supervisors’ Room, County Administration Center, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA Project: Old Durham Wood, Inc. – Conditional Use Permit UP14-0002 Location: The project site is located at 974 Oroville Chico Highway, Durham. The project site is located approximately five miles southeast of Chico, westerly of Highway 99 and 1.8 miles north of Durham-Dayton Highway; Township 21N, Range 2E, Section 22; MDB&M. APN: 040-120-033 Proposal: The applicant is requesting a Conditional Use Permit to bring existing operations at the facility into compliance with Butte County Code, and to allow for an expansion of existing operations. Existing operations encompass 33 acres and include a greenwaste disposal facility, chipping and grinding operations for the production of biomass fuel, composting, and firewood processing and storage. Proposed expansion of the existing facility include enlarging the size of the facility by 25 acres to improve existing operations, and establishing an orchard/farm wood processing operation (milling) to produce boards. The Butte County General Plan designates the subject property as AG (Agriculture). Zoning on the subject property is AG-40 (Agriculture 40- acre minimum). The Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) and reference documents for these projects are on file for public review and comment starting April 17, 2014 through May 16, 2014, at the Butte County Planning Division, 7 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA. The IS/MND is also available for review on the County website at http://www.buttecounty.net/dds/Planning/CEQA.aspx. All persons are invited to review the documents. Comments may be submitted at the above address to the Planning Division in writing at any time prior to the hearing or orally at the meeting listed above, or as may be continued to a later date. In order for comments to be included in the packet, please submit comments no later than Tuesday, May 13, 2014. If you challenge the above application in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to the public hearing.
